Shabbat Vaetchanan – 5784 – Shabbat Nachamu

August 16, 2024 : 3:10 pm

August 16-17, 2024
13 Menachem Av 5784

The Eruv is BACK UP!  Kudos to the LA Eruv team!

The Eruv is Sponsored by Moshe Polon, in honor of the memory of his wife, Miriam Rochel bas Avrohom, a”h, who passed away on Parchas Chukas, 7 Tamuz this year.  The shloshim of her patirah was on 7 Av.

This week fixing the Eruv was a bit more complicated than most weeks.

Last night our Eruv crew (David Witkin & Adam Funk) were out in the night repairing two sections of the eruv: 10 Fwy & Redondo and
Santa Monica & Van Ness.

Every week our guys are out for hours Making repairs.

This week, after those repairs were made we got a last minute call from the city about new construction scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Our crew went back out again and made emergency repairs to restore the eruv.

Our guys are out every week to keep this eruv operational year after year.

We are grateful for their dedication.

This Week’s Repairs:

  • 10 Fwy & Redondo: Removed fencing obstructing pole
  • Santa Monica & Van Ness: Added screws to secure Lechi
  • Friday afternoon emergency reroute: Santa Monica & St. Andrews

Weekly, Monthly and Annual co-sponsorship opportunities are available.

A few weeks ago was The Eruv Shabbos.  Please support your community Eruv.

The Los Angeles Community Eruv serves every shul and every family in our community. Our eruv makes it possible for our children, our grandparents, and those with unique needs to be fully included in the activities of our shuls.

The LA Eruv needs your support. Ours is the largest and most thoroughly maintained Eruv in the country, and has served as the model for eruvin built throughout the Western United States. The Los Angeles Community Eruv counts on the community to fund its maintenance, updates and operations.

We ask for families to take personal responsibility for supporting the LA Eruv on an ongoing basis. The time to offer your support for the LA Eruv is NOW.
